From the last week, the Take-Home task was to construct 1:200 site model of Fisher House. We needed to convert the unit (feet to meter). This was quite challenging because my material for the hill was a boxboard but it was hard to handle with. Cutting the boxboard was not easy as cutting balsa wood. I wanted to make the house stands out from the hill so only for the house, I used balsa wood. This site modelling helped me to understand the deep relationship between house and the surrounding as the inclined landscape affects the whole design of house.
In the studio, we were asked to make a Fisher House seat detail in 1:50. The plan and the sections were given on hand out. Through this task, I was finally able to construct a precise 3D model by using 2D drawings. In addition, handling a small details such as chair and window requires very clear cutting techniques.
