In part b of this project, we were asked to map or track a very precise but personal interpretation of the program in our studied building - for me, Villa Savoye.
My two strategic aspects of the architecture were a) Types of opening and b) relationship of public to more private spaces in the houses.
These two aspects were co-related and they have been studied by sets of drawings and model.
1.Privacy of space can be classified by its boundaries (walls and openings) its function and accessibility. I divided level of privacy into 5 classes - private, semi-private, moderate, semi-public and public. I firstly defined level of privacy of each floor
ground floor-public since it consists car park and large gate / first floor - private as consisting of private rooms / Roof -semi-private due to less accessibility to this space even though space itself is exposed to exterior
After classify three level, the study developed as observing the level of vision and physical transparency through doors and windows toi each space.
eg. private rooms have relatively less width of outcell window and people have to go thorugh more number of doors or narrow corridor whilst there are various ways to access into public spaces have longer width of window or even openigns without glazing frame and open roof area which directly connect to exterior.
In Addition, there is a flexibility of level of privacy by two types of opening - the screens (at ramp and terrace) and sliding door in living room. Thse openings allow extension of vision range and increases accessibility between spaces.
2. I interestingly observed that all type of openings are oriented orthogonally and aligned in horizontal or vertical lines hence sense of coonnection continues through spaces.
Windows on each facades (that are with/without frames) and wall of room create various moment scenarios of the houses. For this study, I expanded the four facades horizontally and extracted the windows. I put first floor plan for four facades and oriented it corresponding to each facade. Then I cut the plan in terms of visibility that is related to each frame of window.
As I imagined to look through window from exterior, the first boundary I met, I deleted the part behind the boundary- the result of this study was very interesting as there was none of equal shape of visible space existed.

There were some feedback from my tutor
- work on how description is ordered
- studies work well together
- good set of studies but not sure about the modle - it does not show in detail than drawings
- It would be good if same scale for visibility and types of oepning were used in drawing
- may be 3d model of each type of openings or each spaces
